The Summit County Farm Bureau is excited to announce its second annual Summit’s Plow 2 Chow, an exquisite outdoor dining experience benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Akron.
This fundraiser will be held on Thursday, July 16th at Dayton Nurseries in Norton. Hor’ devours will be served at 5:30 PM, with dinner following at 7:00 PM.
Guests will be welcomed to the nursery and shown the Owl Barn, which features the area’s first living green roof. From there, guests will begin a guided tour, complete with a wagon ride throughout the nursery grounds, blueberry patch and the Wolf Creek Botanical Garden, all while enjoying a glass of wine and appetizers.
Then, guests will be seated in the 3,000 square foot retractable roof greenhouse for a six-course gourmet meal of almost all locally sourced ingredients with local wine pairings.
The Summit County Farm Bureau, while raising money for the Ronald McDonald House of Akron, will also connect the “food” producer and the “food” consumer. The six-course meal will be crafted using predominantly local ingredients and will highlight a variety of commodity groups like a fruit grower, herb farmer, beekeeper, maple syrup producer, and an organic farmer.
The six-course meal will be prepared by Chef Johnny Schulze of Zydeco Bistro.
Tickets are $100.00 or $750.00 for a table of eight people and all proceeds will go to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Akron. There are only 120 seats available so buy your tickets now by calling The Summit County Farm Bureau office at (330) 456-4889 or toll free (800) 654-5158.
The Summit County Farm Bureau was organized in 1921 for the purpose of representing, promoting and protecting the business needs of farming and centralizing into a unit of strength the several county farm bureaus of the State of Ohio.
