Tyler Darnell is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Darnell of Wadsworth. He is currently attending Ohio University and his intended field of study is Management Information Systems & Ag Business. Tyler’s occupational objective is to be a Horse Show Software Programmer and Network Specialist.
Tyler’s current honors and activities include being on the Dean’s List at Ohio University, Scholar Athlete Award, Beta Theta Pi member and Beta Theta Pi Technology Chairman, and a member of the Northern Ohio Quarter Horse Association.
Tim Sherer is the son of Mr. & Mrs. James Sherer of Hudson. He is currently attending the Ohio State University and his intended field of study is animal science. Tim’s occupational objective is to go into large animal veterinary medicine.
Tim’s honors and activities include being in the Ohio State Buckeyes Forum SAE car team, being in the 4-H program and winning several competitions involving animal showmanship and is currently still active in the club.
Tim has also been involved in many community service areas: Solders’ Angels, Care Packages to Iraq, Food Bank, Rain Garden, Head Start of Akron, among others.
One award that has meant a lot to Tim…The Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. Tim was involved through a local furniture bank to help people obtain basic household furnishings.
Sheem Kendall is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Norman Kendall. He graduated from Norton High School and will be attending Kent State University. Sheem’s field of study is Fashion Design. His goal is to create clothes for everyone to wear in every lifestyle.
Sheem’s honors and activities during high school included being a member of the National Honor Society, as well as the National Art Honor Society, receiving first and second place honors for Forensic speech and debate, having one of his works of art bought by the Akron Children’s’ Hospital, being honored for designing the cover of his school’s Literary Journal, and being a member of Key, Art, and Tennis Club.
Kelsey Graf is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Scott Graf of Akron. She graduated from Copley High School and is planning to attend the Ohio University, where she will major in Business Accounting/ Marketing. Kelsey would like to become a CPA or work in marketing and return to the family farm.
Kelsey’s honors and activities include being the founder and member of the Book Club, vice president and member of the band, as well as a solo and ensemble participant, and member of the Key Club. She also played soccer and softball and was an active member in the Environmental Club. Kelsey worked steadily through her high school years for Graf Growers.
Katherine Koellner is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Koellner. She graduated from Copley High School and is planning to attend Ohio State/ATI University. Her intended field of study will be pre-agriculture education and her occupational objective is to be an agriculture educator/extension agent.
Katherine’s honors and activities include being a member of the German Club, the Swim Team, Copley Fire Explorer (secretary), and has worked for a local farm market/garden center, while taking care of her horses. She has also helped with her family’s maple syrup business.
Joseph Stribrny is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Stribrny of Hudson. He is currently attending the University of Alaska. Joseph’s intended field of study is electrical engineering, and his objective is to be an Electrical Engineer of Improved/Automated Farm Equipment.
Joseph’s current honors and activities include being in the ROTC from spring 2009 to present, being initiated into Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society) fall 2010, being selected as the 2009-2010 Outstanding Sophomore for the Year – Alaska Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Pi, and receiving the Superior Cadet Decoration for the 2009-2010 academic years.
Edward Luther is the son of Mrs. Gale Luther and the late Edward Luther. He is currently attending Bowling Green State University. His intended field of study is AYA Integrated Social Studies, and his objective is to become a high school Social Studies Teacher in Summit County.
Edward’s honors and activities include being on the Dean’s List, being on the Bowling Green Rugby Football Club 2009-2011, being a member since 2003 and the past President of the Summit Sizzlers 4-H Group in Summit County, while working on and off the family century farm in Richfield, Ohio.
Alexander Urquhart is the son of Mr. Lionel Urquhart and Mrs. Elisa Staats. Alex graduated from St. Vincent St. Mary and Firestone high schools. His intended field of study is music, majoring in Jazz Guitar Performance and obtaining a minor in History and will be attending The University of Akron.
Alex’s current honors and activities include being a member of the National Honor Society since 2008, being the recipient of the Excellence in CO Earth Science Award, being the lead guitarist/singer/soloist and performing with several different community organizations and bands, and being involved in agricultural activities, such as traveling to El Salvador to help build a water system and build homes for the less fortunate.
