a humorous story of farm life – by Bob Luther
Tim and I were baling straw one day, Tim was driving and I did the stacking. Tim was having some kind of problem as he was driving. He kept starting and stopping, so I asked him what was wrong. He said there was a skunk in the wind row it wouldn’t get out.
I told him not to worry, just keep going. Sure enough, here comes the skunk out of the baler, smashed flatter than a pancake, graveyard dead!
Not a problem, I set the bale aside until we were done. Pulling out of the field I set the bale in the ditch. The next morning, it was gone. Someone must have thought we accidentally dropped a bale pulling out of the field.
I imagine, they found out differently!
