Farmers Share Wisdom with Annual Breakfast

March 1, 2015 By SCFB

Enjoying the Summit County Farm Bureaus Farmers' Share Breakfast

The Summit County Farm Bureau’s 7th Annual Farmers’ Share Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 21st at Copley High School, 3807 Ridgewood Road in Copley. A breakfast of pancakes (with local maple syrup), sausage, scrambled eggs, milk and coffee will be served 8-11 AM at the minimal cost of $1.00, with all proceeds going to the Food Bank.

SCFB will also be holding a canned food drive: canned good donors will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to WIN a container of Smith Dairy ice cream every month for a year.

The Annual Farmers Share Breakfast is an opportunity for SCFB to promote agriculture through education and involvement, serving as the voice of agriculture in Summit County. Tables and booths chock full of agriculture information will be on display for visitors to examine.

Children are invited to visit the SCFB Mobile Learning Laboratory – a 32′ trailer with 10 learning stations for hands-on student investigations about agriculture food and fiber products and processes.

Adults are encouraged to attend an educational seminar, Easy Care Plants and Low Maintenance Gardening Techniques; Learn to garden easily with careful plant selection (perennials, shrubs, annuals and herbs) & other techniques, presented by Lisa Graf of Graf Growers Garden Center at 9:30 AM .

The SCFB Board of Trustees would like to invite you to join us for breakfast and a little information. But, before we get to the agriculture information, we’d like to ask,”Could You Live Without Farmers?”. Here are some facts to help you draw your own conclusion:
