Yippee! Sunshine, longer days, and warm weather are here!!! Time to get out and enjoy the emerging spring flowering bulbs, the swelling buds on the trees and shrubs, the robins gobbling worms and the delicious smell of clean air after a spring rain.
But don’t forget, there is always that chance that we could have another short visit from SNOW.
Put that thought out of your mind and get busy on your action list…
– fertilize trees & shrubs
– start tomatoes from seed
– divide perennials
– plant pansies
– plant bare root small fruits
– plant blueberries for fruit
– plant cold hardy veggies; cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli

– edge your landscape beds and apply a thin layer of mulch.
Have you ever considered adding a couple laying hens to your garden area? Not only will they keep the bugs plucked from your vegetable plants but also supply your family with fresh delicious eggs.
