Eric Blinkhorn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Blinkhorn of Akron . Eric graduated from Copley High School and is attending West Virginia University with an intended field of study of Mining Engineering. Eric’s occupational objective is to remove minerals from the ground, with the main focus to reclaim the land and bring it back to a usable state.
Eric’s activities include graduating from Copley High School and attending West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design. Eric has been an ongoing volunteer for the Summit County Farm Bureau and the community. He has given his time and efforts at the annual Farmers’ Share Breakfast, volunteered at the SCFB Antique Museum during the Summit County Fair, as well as helped to gain memberships during the Summit County Farm Bureau Membership Drive.
Brittany Bolton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Bolton of Copley. She graduated from Copley High School and is planning to earn her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Ohio Northern University. Her objective is to become a Registered Nurse, helping people and her patients.
Brittany’s honors and activities include the Honor Roll, the Academic All-Ohio Award, the Suburban League Honorable Mention, Academic Letters and Scholar Athlete awards. She was involved in cheerleading, the spirit club, and softball, as well as the team captain in varsity golf, receiving two varsity golf letters. Brittany was a volunteer for many community minded organizations, such as Grace Church Feed My Starving Children and the Bath Horse Show.
Joshua Casteel is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Casteel of Norton. He graduated from Norton High School and is planning to attend the Ohio State University, Mansfield Campus. Joshua’s intended field of study is Agriculture Science. His goal is to work in the Agriculture and Natural Resources arena.
Joshua’s honors and activities during high school include lettering in Speech and Debate, playing on the Golf Team, achieving Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, volunteering during the Summit County Fair, and placing at the State Fair level with horses in trail competition. He has been a 4-H Club Member for 10 years, having held the office of Treasurer and Secretary, and worked 8 years in the Equine project area, as well as being a Jr. Leaders Horse Camp Counselor.
Madison Culp is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Culp of Clinton. She graduated from Northwest High School, planning to attend the University of Akron with an intended field of study in nursing. Madison would like to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a focus on Pediatrics, especially in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with babies and their families.
Madison’s honors and activities include several scholar awards, attending advanced placement classes, and lettering in softball and soccer. She has been an active member in the 4-H program, even holding the office of President, as well as earning best of show and best overall showman at the Summit County Fair for several years working with goats, rabbits, and beef cattle. She has volunteered at the Clinton Memorial and the Akron Canton Food Bank.
Meghan McCarthy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McCarthy of Medina. She graduated from Medina High School and attends the University of Akron. Her field of study is civil engineering, with a goal to help the environment in some way.
Meghan’s honors and activities include Eureka Honors Engineering Club, American Society of Civil Engineers, Concrete Canoe Team, and the Medina String Orchestra.
She has volunteered in the Akron STEM Middle School, the SHUDDLE mentoring program for elementary students, and the ASPCA program. Meghan has volunteered for the Summit County Farm Bureau at Summit’s Plow 2 Chow event and for the SCFB Antique Museum during the Summit County Fair.
