It’s that time of year to SPRING into Action for the coming of summer. Spring is a season of warm and cool temperatures. It is definitely a season of transition. One is never sure what to wear. It seems like we went from late winter right into summer. One week we have 2’ of snow and two weeks later it’s 88 degrees.
What the heck?! Oh, well, I do love the warmer weather!
So, everything is SPRINGING into growth which means time to rake and pickup sticks, time to mow the yard and time to be courteous to the farmers moving equipment on our roadways. It’s hard to be patient when you are behind a tractor and a disc, but please remember these pieces of equipment are very large and don’t have the stopping ability like your car. An accident can happen in a matter of seconds.
Area farmers are out working the fields, preparing them for the crops soon to be planted. The farmer is also on a tight planting season schedule. Timely planting his crops is important, so the fresh fruits and vegetables are available at your favorite local farmers’ market.
It is so much fun to plan your meals around the large array of food items that are locally available. Not to mention, how healthy it is for our bodies. Plus, you are also helping the local economy. Many times when you purchase vegetables at your area grocery store, they have been grown in another country.
Many of the ‘in season’ fruits and vegetables are now in the grocery stores and at our local farmers’ markets. Every week will bring a new array of foods.
